The time for Life Centered Design has arrived.
Life-Centered Design feels like the start of a new design era, one I'm enormously excited to lead! LCD has been in the making by several designers over the last couple of years. Until now, it didn't appear like an approach/ service in the design world. With our Life-Centered design approach, we want to stimulate a new design that focuses on the life and ecosystems that compose our planet.
When we design, we look at life in general. We understand who benefits from our design and who or what gets damaged along the way. When we create something for ourselves, nature always sits at the decision-making table to consciously design things that won't harm. We empathise with nature.
Life-Centered Design is also about circular design, but it goes beyond the technicality of its circularity. LCD aims not just at human necessities but at real-life needs.
Life-Centered Design is systemic. We need to learn from the ecosystems on our planet to redesign our systems & chains (value or supply). We need to think small and big at the same time. We need to feed billions of people on our planet, but creating small healthy communities creates more respect and regenerative actions towards life on our planet.
Our Life-Centered Design approach shall evolve and improve in the upcoming years, we start today to be able to design for the life of tomorrow.
We can not do this alone! So join the Life-Centered Design community and let´s go forward together.
